$600+ bucks or thereabouts for a small hooded bbq on a collapsible trolley by the time you get something with a grill for a chop or two and a flatplate to do a few bumnuts and onions on

600 bucks? I just paid just over $300 for one of those Weber Qs (got the midsize one) from the Good Guys. The baby one is small enough to cart around isn't it?

I have a baby Q. We keep it full time in the camper trailer. I think it was around the $300 mark. Excellent bit of kit and does a lovely roast as well as snags.
    Would recommend it to anyone.

We have the Beafeater Bugg BBQ. I believe it is better than the Weber as it has two separate burners. So you might be slow cooking on the plate and incinerating meat on the grill. Was $380 from Masters. Small enough to take camping.

Do you want the sizzle or the steak?

If you want a meal, you don't need to spend $600 bucks, or anywhere near it.
If you want to keep up with the Jones' though... well the sky's the limit, and a fool and their money are soon parted.

I've got a coleman dual fuel burner, a cast iron skillet, a saucepan and a biji barbi. If you can't cook it using those things, then there is a problem.

I bought a little aldi bbq for $37 bucks and it cooks a great steak. Hooks up to a 9kg bottle.

At $600 the bbq had better make a choir of angels appear singing "aahhhhhhhh" with gold light shining out as you open the hood.

    Cheers

Ive got a 2 burner Ziggy, best bbq Ive ever had.
The gear cruncher bought the smaller single burner, which would be more suited to travel, see if he can give a thumbs up.
