I purchased a ride on mower today. Hopefully next time that I cut the grass it won't take much more than an hour or so.
Gave up on this mowing caper when I moved from the house to a flat. Gardening consists of a few pot plants and a small desktop aquarium. Total time expenditure per week , about 15 minutes.
Plus add the time spent picking up the hoses & the possible dog s**t & moving the outdoor setting that some "kind" person has decided that it will be nice & "I thought you had cut that already?" Then moving it back again when you finish mowing.
Ho yes, A Rideon is an education.![]()
Moving stuff is half the fun.... 2 old swing sets, a trampoline, 3 caravans, 1 heavy bastard offroad camper trailer with a treg hitch (to make it extra difficult to shift) 3 trailers ... the boat ... (no I'm not weathly, all the family members want to store there **** down here as we are on acerage). Only a couple of the trailers and one caravan in mine from all that crap.
Oh and lets not forget all the other crap the kids like to leave around. It no big bother though. I couldn't live in suburbia ... I'd go insane within a week. Even worse would be living in "townhouses" (a fancy name for dodgy flats).
A new ride on ?? Your going to love not pushing a lawn mower. Just don't let the grass get to long, american mowers shred cutter belts as a past time if you try to cut australian "yards" with them

Well I learnt yesterday afternoon that "bumping" the gate when you cut down the side of it .... Doesn't worry the lawn mower at all ..... Infact, it doesn't even scratch its paint ....
Hmm... lets hope we wont need to be closing that gate anytime in the near future ......
So I'm guessing this should be my job for this afternoon .... fitting up those new brake pads and finally have some brakes that work. they have only been sitting on the shelf in the shed for the last year or so

Funny that you should say that 'cos the bloke from Nectre said the same thing when I inquired about replacing the steel top baffle plate for our heater. No tractor, but a Discovery arse end does a similar job of straightening it out.
The I tidied it up with a 5lb sledge.![]()
