    Wild winds today

CFA sirens have been going off a lot today up here in the Ranges.
Sadly a Yarra Ranges woman dies .
Then a local Tecoma woman had a huge tree crush her upstairs bedroom as she slept, she was lucky to not be killed.
I have a customer who experienced a tree crush her house years ago whilst she slept and she is traumatized as a result and has nightmares since.
Had to venture out today and driving today was something I really wanted avoid, there are lot of trees down across the roads, Fire trucks everywhere , they were busy with chain saws. Some pretty big gum trees up rooted and fallen. They don't see to have very large root balls either.
I was hit on the head by a small branch as I ventured outside for something, our cars were having big twigs raining on them. So Heather and I moved our cars out onto the street where our big claret ash branches would not snap and fall on them.
Not a good day to be out. Just hope this wind storm goes away soon and we don't have more days off it

I tried to stay indoors but I had to go out and about in it.
The wires were a swingin' and the poles were a swayin'. The power was lost to the house nine times. Well I had to reset the clocks nine times.
The wind blew a car cover off a trailer at home.
Oh, at Glenthompson I saw a convoy of ten CFA trucks Melbourne bound. I suspect they were coming home from somewhere. Three of them were Wallan, Woori Yallock and Mooroolbark trucks.

Impressive pics on TV this morning of a huge tree that crashed down at a school down there. Tree now occupies the playground and the school is closed. Must take a huge wind to bring down a tree with so many roots.

I was in Sunbury on Sunday, was glad to get back home. Very windy in Melbourne.
One reason for the trees coming down is the ground is so soft, not much holding them in at the moment.

And you didn't drop in for a cuppa...?

I weeded the gardens and mowed the lawns. I don't think we copped anything near as bad as other places.

There is a huge number of trees down around the ballarat area. We got hammered by those winds. We even had a pine tree come down (I did think pine trees fell over like gums do). We had a large'ish wattle tree come down too. I'm going to be busy with the chain saw for a while I'm guessing.

Poor little GS1220 is no more I wonder if the box trailer is more ( or less ) bent than it was before.

I did mention it to the wife that you were in Sunbury. We were too busy catching up with relies to drop in.

A work mate from Bendigo said they had pretty bad wind their as well on Sunday.
