Pickles believe that it has not been under water. The stat write off rules do apply in WA. Insurance company list it as economic rite off only. It does have electical and other unknown problems etc.

I had aranged to bid on this vehicle today. But I must have stired Pickles up yesterday when I asked if it had been under water. They (Pickles) did the right thing, they rang me a few hours before the vehicle came up. They had found out some more info.
It had apparently been hit by a wave on the beach, some water inside, did not stall & was driven home (hence not a stat right off). It was flushed out, then taken to an auto elec's to have the electrical checked out (hence dash removed & left on the back seat, also fuel tank removed). The engine was still a runner & she should have survived, Pickles still expected her to fetch $18 - 20 000, I declined the offer to bid, a bit of a risk for something site unseen. Not sure what she sold for but I shall be wary of any blue extreme for sale in the near future.

Trebor110,

Sounds like a wise move and a load of bollocks from Pickles.

I had 2 different stories, the two times I rang. I also got told it was a "stolen and recovered", def. not a water job?!?! 8O 8O

Anyone know what this went for?

As I said in the previous post Pickles did say;

1. Two weeks ago when I rang that it had been in salt water and was drivable.

2. Then I got a reply to an email saying it had just a few scratches on bonnet but no apparent damage...

3. When I phoned to clarify I got just the normal stolen but no visable damage.

In the end I was undable to make the auction due to work. Personally for $21k I think it would be worth it and would have paid that, assuming you'd have all electrics replaced over time.

Will let you guy's know when it's advertised in Perth.

Brett.

Had to turn up somewhere, and has in a dealership in inner Sydney. Asking $37k.

Look on autotrader.com, is the one as unregistered and has the WA rego sticker still on. Buyers beware!!!
