Thread: Xtreme writeoff at Pickles Perth

I spoke to the dealer in Sydney, said I was interested but knew of on ex-Perth with water damage. He was unaware but said he would check it out & get back to me. He did get back to me today & said it was an ex Sydney registered car............ I have checked & compared his photos with those from Pickles, I am no expert in forensics or sorts but the photos of the spare wheel seem to be a perfect match (chalk V mark above the valve cap is still visable & the ballance weight is in the same spot). Also the stickers on the windscreen seem to match. The vehicle has had alloy guard protectors fitted since Perth. Maybe to disguise something.
I would be interested in this vehicle but to risky since Im in Melbourne.

Also note that the Extreme (also blue) that was at Pickles auction in Townsville the day before the one in Perth has also turned up at a car yard in Cairns. $30.500 at auction (I was the loosing bidder) & now $39.000 at the dealer.

I guess you need to keep watching,them Defenders are fetching good prices even at damaged auctions.
My Bro picked up a late 2004 XR6 Turbo 6 speed with 7000km with all the options,practically a brand new car from Pickles for $17000.Parts to repair it cost $4000,its just come back from the panel shop,$1200 to fix/straighten it up,and his mate who is one of the better spraygun operators is painting it for him.He should end up with a $50000 Falcoon for under$25000.He is hoping to keep it for 12months or so and trade it on a F6 Typhoon.
