Another major contributor to whether people will obey the law or not, is what they have to look forward to whilst in prison.
Three very hearty square meals a day, TV's, laptops and the like,, if they are hounded by other inmates, they're then segregated at the drop of a hat, and they get to sit around doing swat all day,, oh, unless their out body building.

Take away all their privlages sand give 'em rocks to break. Their there because they ****ed up,, it's not supposed to be a holiday. Maybe then they'll learn to do the right thing, so they don't have to go back inside.

We have even seen examples of where judges and magistrates have refused to pass sentences prescribed by law (such as in three strikes policies). It is about time the politicians held these arseholes to account and sacked those not doing their job. They are, after all, our employees - not some privileged group of self-opinionated arseholes who are above the law.

While he may have been a bit of a strange one in many ways - Campbell Newman at least had the right idea in some of his attempts to take sentencing out of the hands of the judiciary and enforce minimum sentencing standards for some crimes. He at least had the balls to recognise that the judiciary in this country is an ineffective bunch of ****weak leeches on the system, and made an effort to do something about it. There desperately needs to be more of the same.
There are extensive guidelines a magistrate has to consider when determining a sentence. We don't know the details of what list of factors the magistrate worked through to decide on five years, so its hard to make an informed comment.

And while the do-gooders and apologists continue to make excuses for the pathetic and ineffective performance of these parasites, nothing is likely to change.
    Cheers .........

I reckon we should round them all up, put them on a boat and send them to a remote Continent where they can found and build an even greater Nation.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

Just prepare for the riot in which the prison is burnt down, guards are assaulted, they escape and the taxpayers have to shell out to rebuild.

    Ok, I'll bite.
And why would that happen. The reality is, if these turds want to riot,,, simple, shoot them. They don't need to be killed, just winged
The problem all started when the "do-gooders" started complaining about the turds so called rights,, which, whilst their in gaol, shouldn't have any, Full Stop.

People seem to forget that these people are there because they shattered someone else's life, one way or another. Someone who is in there for some kind of "paper fraud" is not about to really cause problems whilst inside.
