I have to read the papers sometimes. I don't read them everyday, but there are some on here that regularly quote from them, & many other media outlets.
Some on here choose to question anything,.......unless some sort of media "link"is given, hense I read them,....sometimes.
But you're right, there's not a lot of good stuff in the media is there?

Its not the prisoners fault or the beaks or the coppers or even the public...

We are all to blame by accepting a pollitical system that contributes restrictions to improved society... Taking away our right to self control and self discipline...

we have back the pollies when they have sprouted about who flung d^&% at who and we keep voting them in believing there B*(L... Society keeps wanting more laws to fix old ones and as such more restrictions, then we get on the band wagon and complain and abuse and threaten about the next issue raised... So the pollies bring in new laws and restrictions to fix the next problem in society... All the time, taking our self control and self discipline...

When you take all this ability from people and plaster the walls with cr%$ that this group is attacking your rights and this group are stealing your lives and this group are abusing you, people get violent, abusive and out of control... And it snow balls...

Who was it from the Nazi party, that said, "the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."


This is happening in Australia... Think about it, restrict, restrict and blame others for the restriction...

Dont think for a minute that one thing restricted and its safe... Freedom in many ways, can improve a country but give the honest, law abiding citizen, freedom to do as they wish to without hurting another and the crims sadly will still be there, but in very low numbers...Then use the crims to do good for society, ie rebuild roads, make canals from nthn water sources etc etc... I'm sure we can think of where a new harbour needs a canal so the ships are safe...

Anyway, just my thoughts...

A good example of what is commented on above is this resort to claims about something not being 'politically correct'. That implies there is some kind of conspiracy with which the speaker disagrees.
In fact, even a brief search usually reveals there is no conspiracy at all - just not true.
All there is is a person throwing a tanty because other people are saying or doing things with which they disagree, like selfish kids who can't get their own way in the sandpit.

Total bollocks! Some people just need to grow up and get a life.

Reading thru some posts on general Chat, I'm starting to get a little bit concerned. There is a lot of negativity, some petty bickering, some dark thoughts, and some unstable comments. Where are the positive thoughts, the happy moments? Our lives can't be that bad that all we have to offer is the negative side of life, surely? Now would be a good time to ask,RUallOK?

yes...there is a LOT of negativity.....but it's from the same group of six all the time.

So , it doesn't count.

Sometimes negative posts can be infectious, and drag others down to their level. I believe we should all try to remain positive, when possible. Support each other, not white ant one another.

"Negative Posts",...you are the absolute top man for that, particularly when it comes to the good old "U.S.of A.".
You talk about negativity, you are the absolute guru when it comes to this subject. "Support each other"?....."Name calling".."Troll"?..you're pretty good at that too.
Example,...the "Castro" thread. We're all talking about Fidel, but you can't help yourself,...you have to bring up the previous chief, "who was supported by the U.S."
Castro, if you were realistic or balanced, maybe you could've mentioned that He was the guy who allowed Nuclear Missiles to be placed dangerously close to squillions of innocent U.S. citizens, ....but you never mentioned that?. It was only through the bravery of JFK that they were removed. Castro was also the guy who "squashed" the Cuban people/economy for decades,..just see how they benefit now, by guess what,....friendly relations with who?... the good old "U.S. of A"......It is already happening,....but of course you never mentioned that either.
Is the U.S. perfect?...OF COURSE NOT. Which country is, Britain has Mi5, Israel has Mossad, Russia had KGB (don't know what they have now, but they'd certainly have it!)..they all do their "bad stuff" when they feel the need.
Of course you are entitled to "nail" the U.S. whenever you like, but you lack credibility, when you NEVER give them any cred at all,.. Criticise them? Of course, why not,....but also give them credit, when they do good stuff,...or don't you think they ever do good stuff?
Of course, in terms of forum rules, this is all IMHO!
