You do have the odd drama down there. Welcome to move to Brissy Pickles. Lots of Land Rovers and weather is nice. Even the do gooders aren't a bad lot up here. Good coffee. The beach. The odd bush trip.
Cheers
Yeah, well there always has to be someone doesn't there, who simply because He has a different view, which is quite fine by me,has to start designating, calling names etc,..quite expected from the usual suspects. That's what some people do, particularly the do-gooders,...speak out about anything like this & "ya're a racist". Well I ain't, & I ain't no "redneck" either, & so I don't need to, & never will, sink to that level.
What areas, ..If you read the media, you'll see there's stuff happening everywhere, but some areas of Dandenong, Frankston, and some of the Northern suburbs I suppose. But we've had stuff happening everywhere, a couple of bad attacks in Melbourne, and recently there was a situation defined as a riot on St Kilda beach, before which there was a similar situation involving over 100 youths in an inner Melbourne suburb, and another one in the City Square, where innocent by-standers were absolutely terrified. There are particular area/situations that I'm not getting in to, because I'd be directed to C.A., & I do not wish to return there.

We sure do!
When we emigrated from the UK, we lived in Drayton, just outside Toowoomba, loved it there, still got old school friends that I'm in touch with.
Also had a nice holiday on Magnetic Island a year or so ago,.....what a lovely spot.
And "Do-Gooders"?!...absolutely there are some very very good ones, a lady in our Church is one, she admits it!!..we have some fairly "robust" but good discussions, and she and a friend spent a Saturday recently donating their time & money feeding homeless people, so there definitely are good ones, but there's also plenty who are "all talk & no action".

Yea the African gangs are what they are because of firearms
Hmmmm.
I call BS on that statement, you need to have a Real Good look at what is happening on the streets.
Australia is nowhere near as safe a place as it was back in the sixties and seventies when I was in my formative years and back then if you stuffed up you went to jail, No nambypamby get out of jail free cards back then.
Gang violence was unheard of and home invasions were unthinkable back then So how on earth can you say that society is safer now than it was back then?
The old adage of "spare the rod spoil the child" applies to criminals as well and all this "Soft" sentancing is doing is producing criminals that are using the system and have little regard for society and little respect for the police and the law.
We need to take the gloves off when dealing with criminals because this experiment of wrapping the bastards in cotton wool and letting them go is an abject failure.
"Catch and release" has been embraced by fishermen because it helps to keep the populations of fish there, It seems to have the same effect with criminals![]()

Murder down by about 10 per cent and armed robbery is down dramatically since the 70's. Big reduction in both. The stats dont lie. Maybe we just watch too much TV and jump at shadows. Maybe it seems worse because we are getting older and have an one eye on being infirm in a world of young people hey....?
Assaults are up.

Sounds like a normal day in Logan.
Last week we had a bloke with a syringe run onto my work property and prowl around a bit before the cops arrived and grabbed him. Caused a campus lock down. Story I heard was he had found a syringe lying on the the ground, injected himself not knowing what was in it (as you do), gone off his face and stabbed someone and ran away with the cops in pursuit. Normal day in Logan.
As for Melbourne, it's the fastest growing capital in Australia so the total number of crimes is rising, but the rate per head is falling, as I understand it. Say if that's not factual.
Australia is still one of the safest countries in
