I always fill diesel cars from truck bowsers if I can... deisel is the same, it just flows a hell of a lot faster

Many modern trucks, like diesel passenger vehicles, use ad-blue for emissions reduction. Of course, a truck will use much more than a car, so many major truck stops provide a bowser so drivers can refill their ad-blue tank. The ad-blue bowsers I have seen are a bit smaller than those for petrol/diesel, and they have a thin bright-blue nozzle.
I seem to recall that last time I looked, ad-blue was cheaper per-litre than diesel. It is mostly water after all!

Yep the one I should have used had a lever on it.........but when your mind isn't on the job mistakes happen.

I've done it.
We were on a trip to S.A. in Gracie,....got to Nuriupta to fill up, and the BP was chocka,...long wait,..eventually i was able to get to a pump,....picked the wrong nozzle,...started to fill, but Wifey noticed,....said STOP,..so only 1.5 L went in,....VERY lucky escape,...we are now VERY careful.
We have a friend who runs an Ultra Tune Depot,...He says He is ALWAYS getting callouts to drain tanks etc for people who've made a boo-boo. He says the diesel pumps should be separate from the petrol pumps to avoid confusion.

Possibly, but I also don't appreciate paying higher insurance premiums because of people's simple neglect..

Same with people willingly taking hard core offroad trails, smashing up their ride and claiming insurance..

Who ends up paying - we all do..

So in the first instance - his error cost some insurance company about $10,000 which they will recoup by upping all our premiums....

Have a look at UK premiums and see where we will soon end up!!!

I doubt we will get close to the UK's insurance rates unless our crime rate matches theirs, and there's a loooong way to go before our car theft matches anything approaching the UK's.

Insurance is there in case we make mistakes - which we all do, we're human - well, I am, and I guess the OP is too, but I'm not sure about you Tombie...

Car Incidents I fully understand...

The ability to read however, is certainly very different to a momentary lapse of focus whilst driving..

Read pump, select correct nozzle... simple.


And yes, I'm one of those humans who owns my mistakes...

Whereby through simple attention and simple behaviours we can avoid such mistakes then we should do so...

Gav, when playing sparky - got some processes and procedures in place so you won't kill anyone? Of course you do!
No excuses would be acceptable in those instances..

Not hard to put a "process" in place to ensure one doesn't misfuel their vehicle....
