Came home to a story from the neighbour about a diamond python having a snooze on another neighbour's lawn the other day. Not what you expect in suburbia.

Yes I see that there are two cyclones forming off the cape.
I can remember working at the Powerlink sun- station down near the Koomboomba Dam near Ravenshoe a few years ago , boy did it come down that day . I left there late in the afternoon heading towards Townsville. I only just made it to Ingham when they closed the hi-way when I received a call from a friend in Tully to say they were closing the road. I think the hi-way was closed for over a week.
It was strange driving south of Townsville the next day there were all these people fishing from the road in the flooded paddocks beside the hi-way.
From what I remember the hi-way was closed for a couple of weeks.

Climate change means extreme weather events like floods and cyclones will become more frequent, so keep your brolly handy.
Very glad I don't live in a flood zone. Why do people move next to rivers? In most countries the rich live on the hills and the poor on the flats, but in Oz we do the opposite - dumb!

Ah well , if that ice shelf in the antarctic breaks off causing a 4mtr+ searise the poor buggers at Sanctuary Cove will be buying up all the seafront land in front of my place.
