You're right about the seat...........one of my earliest memories was being with my grandparents taking their pregnant daughter to hospital to give birth to my sister, with my 2yo brother and myself (4yo) all seated.

My father was at work........... the then norm for birth episodes.

    cheers, DL

That appeared to be the norm back then. With our 2nd daughter . I had to rush 'er indoors & her Elder sister to the Hospital in a Morris 8/40 panel van & the main part of the ride was over Tram line undulations not to mention the tracking in the lines themselves. Leaf Springs as well. We still laugh about even to day & that was 56 years ago.

After arriving, the Maternity Staff promptly told me to **** off after seeing 'indoors disappearing down the corridor. In the days when would be Parents were not welcome at Maternity Hospitals, unlike today. Parents apparently being panic merchants & in the bloody way.

    Suited me.

    Happy days.

Could also have been cricket day for my old man.

It apparently was for 2/3's of us 3. Just the way it was, the norm of the day. No biggie.

    cheers, DL

Probably put in there by a Koala adding some extra flavour to suit his taste.
