You do seem to have this predilection for undergarments. Anything we should know?
BTW, Yeah I knew what you meant.
Post 1930s Depression I assume, like mine.5 boys, old man sat us on a old wooden Ammo Box on a chair & cut our hair, resoled all our boots & shoes to make them last. The bugger used Green Hide sometimes & bugger me, were they slippery when wet. Lots of other things he did to keep the family together. Probably like yours.
We got the bowl on the head haircut,by the old man.Got some pics somewhere, they are good for a laugh.
My mother made all our school uniforms, and most of our other clothes, right up until high school.Including jumpers and coats. And some during high school as well.Shoes, what shoes? One pair of runners a year, patched up numerous times,or Jim boots i think we called them.Rubber thongs,if we broke them, they often broke in the mud, another pair didn't turn up for months,it was back to bare feet again.
If we got a matchbox toy car each for Christmas,we were very happy.
Made our own fun in those days, were always out and about.
Completely different world to the young ones today.
For better or worse,dunno.
We could have a thread on this topic.
Oh no,off topic again, for something different![]()
