I was meaning,there are three pieces in Rick's pic,the middle piece.

private school?
No way my parents had no money.There was four of us horrors to school,we were lucky if we got a pair of thongs for our birthday..

Post 1930s Depression I assume, like mine. 5 boys, old man sat us on a old wooden Ammo Box on a chair & cut our hair, resoled all our boots & shoes to make them last. The bugger used Green Hide sometimes & bugger me, were they slippery when wet. Lots of other things he did to keep the family together. Probably like yours.
