Call yourself a diver, James? Can you go this deep?
1418 brave souls lost, three survivors. I pay tribute to each man who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Have just this moment finished watching the HMS Hood disaster. Tragic, but it was bound to happen I suppose as was HMS Barham's demise. A Dropping Shell was alleged to have caused her explosion & I have read somewhere that she had a Timber Deck the same as some Aircraft Carriers of the time. No hope at all from Guns of those sizes. A 15" shell is a massive piece of explosive gear to fall on you from up there^^^.
EDITED: Apparently she was up-armoured after Jutland to various areas so may be not timbered after this.
I bet the 3 survivor's ears were still ringing years after.
Thanks Ian, I hadn't seen that previously nor did I realise that it even existed.
A case of "Different times, Different thinking" I guess.
In many ways it seems like it was a similar event to the loss of HMAS Sydney with crew off the WA Coast off Geraldton in WW2 with no one to tell of those events except the German version.
