I’m still not sold on how close the guard is to the rear wheel (compare it to front wheel clearance) and how it would affect off-road use. Great concept though!

As far as I can tell from magnifying several different published photos, regardless of wheel/guard combo movement, it doesn't look like there is much room above the rear wheels on any model. Anything more than a few inches uplift will stop hard against the tray. I wonder if that limits wheel travel enough to compromise offroad performance compared to a D1. Having said that, if you can form a wheel arch into the rear tray like a well body ute, or lift the tray slightly, I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.
