I viewed a CM, with consideration of purchase, mid 80s, but ended up staying with familiar Ford.

This was Chrysler's way of distracting you from the fact that you were driving an enormous barge and there was a corner approaching that you would probably fail to negotiate. Given that the 265 or 318 lumps could actually lift the thing's skirts the ensuing disaster could be biblical.

Don't get me wrong. I once had a VE 318 wagon. It was built like a tank, and never let me down. But the CM? They were all following the Yanks, and the things just became too big. Loved my 351 XA though.

Somehow I just gotta stop SWMBO spending, there must be a trick that I am missing somewhere, after 38yrs you would have thought I would have had it sorted...

Oh,lieing, what fridgie would ever do that, particularly to customers.....

Also have got some decent OP Shops so let me know if you would like me to keep my peepers open for any "new" clobber for you & 'er indoors.

I suppose "the Boys" are self supporting these days?

Re Lying. It is usually referred to as an Amplification of details (or Bull****.)

    EDIT.

On 'er indoors spending habits. Put her card through the Food Blender. I assume you can afford a Food Blender S/H or new?

Lemme know if you can't & I'll find one that works out of the OP Shop discarded stock.

I suppose a Divorce is out of the question?

Oh hang on, you haven't got the readies have you? Oh well it looks like it is back to the Blender.

ELB computer was all about ignition timing, huge spark energy output and variable timing to suit load, speed, throttle rate of movement/position, temp, time at cruise and vacuum and.... Crude by today's standards, (ONE bit computer, AFAIK) but effective, usually. Fuel mixture depended on how well the Carter carburettor was set up.... (Remember those?) and the system's Achilles heel. AFAIK, ratio was 17 : 1. or maybe higher. Anecdotally, the 4.3l (265") hemi could be just as / more fuel efficient than the 4.0l (245"). But subject to Ducks on the wall...
