A correction to my comments about the rusty car above - I went looking for pictures, and realise that it was not an Isuzu, it was a Hino Contessa! Sorry!

She's looking longingly out the window for something to eat.

As opposed to bear class? I'll get my coat.

My Grand Father came from Russia, Bourn in Perekopnoe, Samara Russia, Last 12 years before moving to Australia he lived in Manchuria & worked as a Chinese Interpreter , he could speak Chinese, Russian , German , Polish & English. He arrived in here in November 1912 & never spoke Russian after that. So none of there offspring's or there offspring's learnt Russian. My Grand Parents were married in 1919 , my Grand Mother also emigrated from Russia with her family. I think she would have spoken Russian , Polish , German & English as she was of Polish / German heritage.

Nino Culotta should have written a sequel about Russia. (Shakes bonce in bewilderment)

Are you sure Sash? My imagination thinks that would have been Premiere Classe back then.

It looks fine so long as the PAX don't have knees.

    7. You’re not imagining it: our seats really are getting tinier. In the Boeing 777s now used for long-haul, we recently shrank the seats by 2.54 cm so we could fit an extra seat in each row
    From t'internet.

Bastards! That is a ****ing inch.

yes so much interesting history there..
One half of family belarus /polish and buried with polish letters in grave in belarus(now)
That territory changed hands so much in early 20th century, german was around a bit in the baltics for sure. Alot of history there, I had helped a jewish friend get his family history from belarus archives and he got to visit one branch of family that surviving it all including nazis and latvian right wing death squads..

I guess the sweat in your eyes means you could be forgiven, John, as they did look similar-ish, but the Renault underpinnings should be a little more memorable than that....

Nino was having way too much fun with us Aussies, with Cop This Lot and Gone Fishin', to be thinking of the Russkies. Right in the middle of the "Petrov Affair". IIRC.

    Bloody funny books, BTW.
