    I think you mean Wolfgang Gullich - he was the stunt double for Stallone in Cliffhanger. Stallone hardly made it off the ground for the movie.

    Interestingly he died on an autobahn- you'd think the best sport climber in the world would have had a more spectacular end.

    At least they found the worlds longest cave.
    They went down in the Dolomites and surfaced in the Rockies.
