My dad had an Daimler SP in the 70’s - I still remember the chassis with the little V8, twin exhaust; she made a nice sound.

I wanted my dad to get one in the 60s. We had several Daimlers in the family back then, and it seemed logical to me. Old coot bought an MGB instead. He was 50 years older than me. Talk about mid-life crisis. But he saddled mum with a bloody great Majestic. What's wrong with the little Daimler V8-250 Saloon, I wanted to know.... Looked like a posh Jag MK 2, and who didn't want one of those?

Yeah my grandad had a cracker Mk 2 Jag in gull grey; we had it as our one of our wedding cars, alongside 2 Holdens in the same colours; a 48/215 and an FJ.
(My grandads widow sold the Jag in 2006 for $12k and it was pretty much immaculate Interesting, Odd or Funny Pics II.Interesting, Odd or Funny Pics II.) and the SP was gone when I was a wee lad - 3 kids had finances stretched!

Prior to me, dad had a canary yellow MG TF, then a red TD but our family car was a cream Rover saloon - a completely different but beautiful car.
