That's easily fixed. I had a few trees where my shed is going.
Will post pics when the shed starts in a new thread.

904s are cool, especially Cummins ones, you can even reach the passenger window winder.

Some days it feels like this shed will be the end of me!

No work today due to rain - which in all honesty is fair enough.

But they didn't show up Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The concept of time lines doesn't seem to exist when it comes to shed builders..

    Oh dear. Onwards and upwards!!!

Chops. You don't need to win lotto to buy a few acres in the country. You might have to though to keep a horse.
They can cost more than a Landie to run.

Yes, they are in the 'we are shed builders so we turn up whenever we feel like it and drag the job out just to annoy the hell out of the customer' union.

Don't know the actual crew doing your job GG but not all shed builders are like that. Like mechanics or cyclist (as some examples) there are good, bad and average. Without defending anybody, there is probably a reason for it and remember, as a suby you don't get paid until the job is done so I cannot see any subcontractor (shed builder or otherwise) deliberately delaying things for no reason.

And yes to obvious question, I am a (shed) builder.

    Hi Pop058,

I am happy with the quality of the components of the shed. I am happy with the quality of the work done by the builder - he's a nice guy. But as a customer, my frustrations purely lie in the time it's taking.

As I have previously said - no problem that they can't work in the rain, that makes perfect sense.. Apart from OHS issues, damage to your tools - let's be honest, who wants to work in the rain? Not this little black duck.

But - the builder lives 15 minutes from me. And he is already 1.5 weeks behind schedule - and he has lost 2 days to rain during that time.

Does he come early? (No - it's light at 7:30, and he usually rocks up between 8:30 - 9:00).
Does he work late? (I suppose that's open to opinion... He always leaves by 3:00pm, not a minute after)
Does he work Saturday or Sunday (No - and I can understand this, it's a choice)
Has he not turned up on rain free days (Yes - he's been on other jobs)

My only gripe is - he (in my eyes, the customer) doesn't seem to be making any effort to catch-up for lost time OR to make the deadlines that he set.. Not deadlines that I set - he set them.

Don't get me wrong (I've been a sub-contractor as well) - he seems to do great work, and know his stuff. And yes, at the end of the day I wouldn't want him rushing things and not doing them correctly.

Personally if it was me - I would work an hour or two extra, to show the customer that I was trying to make up for lost time that was not my fault (rain).. But that's only me.

It's just that I'm excited as all hell - I just want to get into the Shed before the weather turns to mush, and yes, I'm EXCITED!!!

    Cheers,
    GG.
