Thought you had the inside word on the air field??

I booked into the caravan park a month or so ago, takes the stress away waiting on other options.

That's what he told me but he is still away in Scotland. Maybe they have had a change of mind since he has been gone.

Hmmm, seems to be very limited options for those that don't need power or facilities - doesn't sound like this is a very 'Land Rover' thing to do.

I guess I'll wait to see if this other option that Mrs HH is following comes through before seeing if we can squeeze into a caravan park.

By what others had said I thought they'd be plenty of camping available.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

There seems to be much more interest than the 60th. Maybe Cooma don't know what they are in for. We don't need power or facility's either, maybe a member has a large paddock down that way

I stayed on the air field last time.....its was OK but nothing to write home about. It was good for lining up the cars on the Sunday.

This time round we are camping on the way down through the snowies and than the high country before heading back......have booked a powered (don't need power but good to top the batteries up and maybe run a heater if its cold) site at the caravan park for the three nights over the event. Might consider booking the show grounds but I'm guessing it will fill/sellout pretty quick

Might actually watch the grand parade rather than participate in it.....one less defender won't impact on the official number by any more than one.

I did have a lead on a property on another forum......for a small number of campers but ended at a dead end

Well they listened...there is a defender there now

Of all people, Carolyn, I thought you'd recognise the difference between a Defender and a Series III

Unbelievable that it took a Land Rover Forum that's not part of the organising committee to point this out but at least the Cooma Visitor Centre is on the ball and have corrected it without delay.

    Alternative Accommodation

Don't overlook the self contained accommodation alternative. I just had a quick look and here's one Pricing & Contact – CROOKSHANKS that is 20 mins out of Cooma, is a 700 acre mixed farming property and has room for three couples (and a dog or two!) for $165 per night - $27.50 per person per night. Worth a look IMHO and under certain weather conditions, access is by 4WD only

I have no pecuniary interest in this accommodation.
