Stevo, Had a similar experience in my then new Bronco many years ago; soft sand and 3 tonnes of grunt don't work too well. Big fat sand tyres next time, eh?

I got stuck in the sand last friday nite in the misses Nissan xtrail (pretend 4x4) so I gave to auto transmission a workout when i rocked it back and forth to get out of the bog. If the stupid thing had low range I wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place

Good to see that it's as capable as they show it in the adds.

    G'day gents,

Nah, pride didn't get hurt, that went right out the window when I realised that my new beastie could float out to sea 8O . For sure there was an element of "you tool" :? in the back of my mind, and some frantic yelling at my partner to ring whoever we could just in case we couldnt get it out. The tide was rising and I was seriously panicking. I sent the pics through to the dealer when I got back, and most of my mates who said " yep, could only happen to you" , only you would jump in boots and all. Best thing of all is the camaraderie from fellow boggers  , I just thank God that it wasn't mud as I had enough sand in the car to make a sand pit when we got home , if it were mud, then it would have been boo hoo's all round. have a great day fella's,

    Regards

    Stevo

Of course if you'd bought a Defender you could have just hosed it out :!:

My old Defender has terrain response too :!:

When there's a hill it goes up, or down, depending on the direction of travel.

True, hence why I am buying some rubber mats for the carpeted area's and for the back so that I wont have to act like a "princess" if I get the interior soiled , plus covers for the leather for when I go out properly off road. Mind you much to the aghast of some, is that as we have no garbage pick up out my way, yep the wheely bins have to go into the back of my nice, shiny new beastie. We are talking potential garbage juice overflows and lets not forget an aussie fave, the ol maggie as well. My daughter had to hold her nose for the last run due to the stench :? . After 3 days of waiting for the smell to clear have decided a trailer maybe the way to go. So if anyone knows a good place to pick up a decent new/second trailer, please let me know,

    Regards

Yeah just a smidge, bit like the Seinfield episode where George kept referring to everything as " George isnt happy with that, or George wants to go out for dinner" etc etc , so based on that anyone else on trailers, anyone....................heelllooooo

Might be a question worth posting in the camper trailers etc forum... as people who know a lot about trailers in general will be checking there periodically.

My thoughts (Vlad's thoughts :?: ) would be to look for a half decent 2nd hand trailer in the Trading Post or classifieds. You don't want to spend a premium on a new trailer if its just for the suburbs / dump runs.
