I had a BA XR6 last year. Was a good car for open highway cruising, but I thought it was a bit gutless. I'd go for the xr6 turbo or xr8 if I had my time again
I have a 2006 Falcon Ute owned it for around 7 years now has been reliable it is just coming up to 200,000k's , good towing ability & quite good on fuel. when I go up to Warwick from Brisbane towing A car on a trailer booth ways , will go up & back on a tank & have enough fuel to last me rest of week. I have done the same trip With Son in laws Dunnydoor 1 ton I need to fill up so I can get home. Also they are easier to work on , had to change Start motor on my ute , I would rather do 10 Falcon ones than do 1 Dunnydoor one.![]()

I've got a BF2 RTV ute on dedicated gas. I bought it with 50,000KM on it and it now has over 200,000. It would be one of the cheapest vehicles to run and maintain that I have ever owned.
I've replaced the following bits:
2 lower front balljoints at about 100K
Both front shocks as they were leaking
Battery
1 set of plugs ( service item)
Brake disks and pads, replaced the disks with DBA slotted ones.
Its coming up for its 10 year recertification on the gas tank and it needs two upper ball joints and a new hood lining so I'll need to spend a bit on it soon. The brake shudder is not usually warped rotors either. If you push the pistons back into the calipers it fixes it for a while but it is able to be rectified by adjusting the coupling between the booster and the master cylinder. If you get a liquid injection gas motor they actually have a bit more power than the petrol one.
The reason I bought the RTV is I have a history of removing front spoilers on low cars, bear this in mind with the XR6. Have a look at the G6 and G6e, there are some good ones around that have more fruit and are less likely to be given a hard time than an XR as well.

Towing 80" LR & also Jaguar mk7 race car. The Falcon tows the LR & the Jag at the speed limit up Cunningham Gap , the V6 dunnydoor struggles & alarms go off 3/4 's of the way up when towing the LR.we towe the Jag to Morgan Park , Winton, Wakefield Park & Sanndown for historic racing , either with my brothers or my BA Falcon Ute's.
Bloke at work has a blue one for 4G you could easily twist his arm I'm sure.

Keeping it simple is complicated.
