A+ for enthusiasm though, am I right?!
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
A+ for enthusiasm though, am I right?!

'El Burro' 2012 Defender 90.
Go hard Kelsey, and the very best of luck.
Don.
What a trip. The captain made an announcement that Kelsey was on board and wished her luck for the world championships. Even came back and spoke to us for a long time.
Landed LA no problems but then had a very frustrating and long staff travel related delay getting to Seattle. But then all good. Got the rental car which just fitted Kelsey's bike. We spent the first night near Seattle so we could do the Boeing factory tour. My wife works for qantas. That is a fascinating facility. The biggest building by volume in the world. Disney world could fit in it with 12 acres to spare.
There are only 4 of these so I can now say I've seen half of them.
Happy family snap at the Boeing factory.
But sometimes the best things in life are free. We started driving towards Canada and en route I pulled over next to the most Beautiful river we have ever seen let alone swam in.
Note snow way on top of one of the mountains. It's a pity they have had so many recent bush fires. It was quite hazy.
After driving a bit longer it appears we made a wrong turn. We ended up in Bavaria. Town of Leavenworth. Back in the 60's they decided to make the town German themed to attract tourists. They have done a good job of it.
How do we know all our knowledge about Leavenworth? It was only supposed to be a quick stop, Gay was in the car trying to find accommodation on her phone, Kelsey and went for quick walk and the chap on the carriage started talking to her. They chatted for ages. I went back to collect her as we had to push on, only to hear a "Hi Dad" as they came clip clopping by. She had been offered a free ride on the front seat as paying customers were taken on there trip. Apparently the guides face dropped when he found out she was only 17.
No affordable accommodation anywhere so we pushed on. Turns out no accommodation anywhere.
After a very long day and a lot of driving and knock backs at at least 20 motel/hotels we ended up at the Canadian border.
America is ok, but the change to Canada was amazing. The very first thing we noticed was our phones switching to 4g instead of 3G. (That is a big thing, had been trying to view instagram and AULRO with either no luck or give up cos it's too slow) Then border control was so easy and so friendly. And then although we still had to drive on the right it was all in metric. Have to try figure out how to change speedometer reading to km.
Anyway at 2am we got into Penticton. We are here.
I now need to wake the family and we need to go see this town.
Kenley
thanks for sharing all this AND all the marvellous photos with us Kenley
We're pleased to hear that Canada is good !
GO WELL KELSEY ! !
Obviously wasn't expecting the joy of seeing any Defenders over here, but I am surprised that this is the first green oval we've seen. So of course in a huge parking lot I had to back in next to it.
We have the Dodge Caravan. Huge beast but such a pleasure to drive.
Kenley
Actually ours is by no means a huge beast. This is.
For size comparison, the side mirrors are at my head height.
