Too many terrorist attacks is holding up my Aus post from Syd to Melb, That's new

I bought something on ebay, and the item location was marked as item location was in Sydney.
I message the seller and specifically asked if the item was in Sydney Australia and not coming from overseas. The reply I got was yes in Sydney.
I made the purchase on a Sunday evening and got confirmation straight away the item was sent and was given a eparcel tracking number.
I decided to track the tracking number on Aust post web site and got no events recorded.
So I messaged the seller again, and asked if tracking number was correct. They confirmed it was right.
days passed and still no update, so I message seller again, keep getting different staff responding each time, but always answer the questions promptly.
This time they said the item is held up in security with many other parcels and to be patient.
so I message them again and asked security? are they referring to customs?
They replied and said it is definitely coming from Sydney Warehouse.
Having used Aus post for many years and I even asked my neighbor who works for Aus post and there is no security section for mail with interstates.

But here is what the seller wrote to me. I feel they told me porkies from the beginning. I bought this item to support a local seller, if I was told straight up that it was coming from O/S then it would be ok and I could have resheduled my projects.

Thank you for your kind message.

"We feel sorry for any inconvenience caused to you, the parcel is still on the way from our AU warehouse to your shipping address, not on your customs, because there were so many terrorist attacks in the whole world, so when the parcel arrives in one place, the local security department will double check it, then the tracking information has been delayed to update.

Please do not worry, we have contacted with Australia post to release the parcel and update it asap; For this delay, we just applied for 2 years AU local warranty to make up for you, it's that ok?"

The seller's feedback usually gives you an idea on this practice. I suspect they're readdressed here after airmailing from China in bulk quantities. The local guy is probably just a student in a flat, perhaps a "whorehouse" slightly misspelled. I had a couple of items like that last week, but I expected it so wasn't surprised.

If you copy and pasted the email(blue writing), thats written by someone that isnt fluent in English... More like educated english without the flow on of speach...

Annoys the hell out of me when someone writes or tries to say there here in Aust and you damn well there not....

That's what I am expecting, I checked feed back and after a lot of scrolling there was a complaint that they send from overseas. The a listing said they had offices in various countries. The other thing I noticed that this item was the last one and after my purchase, they relisted another and again it says last one. So your student their is probably correct.
The I chose this seller over others was that I wanted this item quickly, the expected dates listed for delivery and that it was supposed to be in Sydney attracted me. So looks like I have to wait now.

I just bought something from a similar seller. Said they were in oz. Item took 2 weeks to be delivered.

I checked the parcel and it had been stamped by auspost on the 22nd june, but didnt arrive until the 3rd of july ...

I think auspost is dropping the ball. I did have a theory that it may be intentional to discourage people from buying from these kinds of stores, as i ordered a few other things that were from australian companies that took 2 days.

Anyways, glad i wasnt in a rush this time...
