    How to excell in business- rant..

    I sent an email requesting a bit of detail about some gears to a company in Sydney as it was no use buying a motor if the sprocket did not fit & was gobsmacked at the reply.
    Is this a generational thing? Or is basic courtesy getting scarce?
    This was my question.

    Parts compatibility
    Hi, I am modifying a scooter to lower its speed & want to order sprockets to suit 428 chain (32 & 20 tooth) plus a 64 mm freewheel & a 24v geared motor p/no MY1016Z. My question is, will the 20 tooth sprocket p/no MOSP10170 fit the motor?

    Absolutely no idea dude!
    Unless you have the skills yourself (which it sounds like you don’t!), then most of the time you would just take the parts to an engineer and get him to make them fit!

    Great product knowledge mate & even better customer relations skills. Perhaps I am an engineer, ever thought of that ?.
    If you could advise if the sprockets are removable from the motor ( I would assume so as it is held by a nut ) then I can take it from there.

    Honestly i would call and make a formal complaint that is just ridiculous for public relations
    Either that or find another company that has some decent people skills

    Going by the reply, I have a 99.9% nagging suspicion that this dude was displeased that you're query took him away from his 'Facebook time'.

    Had you posted the quiz via facebook(ie. not email!!) .. he'd have been more responsive.

    email is point to point, so no one else gets to see the results. He gets no 'cred' answering via email.
    Facebook tho is seen by all his e-friends, so he's obliged to respond. He gets lots of likes if he answers via Fb!
