Telstra Landline Phone Keeps Cutting Off

Since early this a:m my home phone is cutting off & reverting to dial tone after 30-40 secs on outgoing & incoming calls.

My internet is on the same line so, obviously, it's working OK.
Hoping someone here may have an answer before I have to try and deal with Kowpu, or whomever, from Telstra

You haven't just switched to NBN by any chance?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Not where I am, VT.

They asked if they could put the proposed tower for the area on our property but I refused. It still hasn't started construction yet on a property a little way away from us.

I am on hold with Telstra, having a calming Coopers Pale Ale, as I type.

Lucky the missus left her mobile with me while she swans around The Kimberly, hey, as I lost my mobile last July & am not looking at replacing it.

How's this for modern day efficiency.

Telstra have found a fault in the line to my property and have scheduled a technician to attend this Friday. Someone over 18 y.o. has to be here (me) & when I inquired as to a time the reply..................................."No later than 7:00 p.m."

Two weeks ago I had to go up to my Mums place as the NBN tech was changing her connection. Now, Mum's 91 and getting a bit mentally challenged so I stated I wanted to be there when the tech was there.
I received an email the evening before the booking to remind me he'd be there between 13:00 & 17:00.
I arrived at 13:01 only to have my Mum tell me that all was done and dusted.
    He had arrived around 10:00.
Now, I'd stopped what I was doing, showered and driven 40 minutes only to be told this.

Telstra wouldn't survive if they had competition.
    End of Rant

Telstra do not connect the NBN. NBN does. It is a separate entity. You may use Telstra on the NBN, but you can use a lot of other companies too.
