Along with Bob I have walked in some of the roughest places OS and here with out a firearm happily like you Tombie we survivied.
A few scars are evident on a few of us mate. They make for great yarns on Anzac days with my mates. As Bob said or implied, cowards or very scared people are often the ones trying to carry weapons.
Great yarn BobA Just retired patrol boat Buffer had a similar event Medics at Penguin patched up a few boys who went back out to have another round or three. The numbers where significantly against the lads for the first two rounds. By the third it was all resolved properly. The Doctor was a bit grumpy about re stitching the stitches on one sailor 3 times
I will save the others for Anzac day
A mate of mine just retired as a Buffer here on Garden Island. Pat
