Even a Discovery2 ute/twin cab with SLS, traction control and ACE would have been a "Game Changer" as far as a ute or twin cab would have been back in the day and even now it would be Superior to anything else available as a ute

Hmmmmmm, The good old Moose test.
First up there are NO Moose in Aus and anyone who swerves a vehicle at speed like that is a Bloody lunatic and deserves to end up on their side/roof regardless of what type/make of car they are driving.
We DO have Cattle, Sheep, Wild Pigs, Roo's and Wombats to consider But anyone with Half a brain fits a bull bar to their vehicle if they are going to encounter these and Simply Slowing Down works as well, Swerving like that at ANY speed is Gross Stupidity.
Maybe if you drive like a "Nitwit" ("Nitwit" being the "Family Friendly version) then these tests may hold Some relevance But for the rest of us that have NO intention of driving in this manner or pushing our Vehicles to their absolute limit they are Meaningless for deciding the merits or downfalls of various vehicles.

At any time factors other than yourself can create a situation where you have to swerve and then regain composure. What if another driver falls asleep and comes head on into your lane? Etc.

However, i do think things have swung too far in some vehicles, that pay too high a price in other areas of the equation due to too much emphasis on moose test type vehicle behaviour.

Actually had this situation four weeks ago just south of Grafton on the open highway, everyone is traveling at at least 100km/h.

A Grand Cherokee came right across into the oncoming lane and not just a little bit but all the way.
I was already on the shoulder braking hard and about to go bush, the Lexus SUV in front hadn't yet reacted.
In the space of a few tenths of a second I thought "****, I'm going to be involved in someone elses head on"

Luckily both the Jeep and Lexus drivers reacted at the absolute last, both using pretty savage reefs on the wheel to avoid each other and you could see the stability control kick in to control the slide in the Lexus.
If it didn't I would've been trying to miss an out of control Lexus, which is 1000 times better than trying to miss the detritus of two vehicles colliding at 100km/h.

The bloody adrenaline took about 45 minutes to subside, it was that close.

That is a nice looking Disco Ute, A twin cab with an ally tray would be perfect
