Is it really a "Bad" thing if this results in Less "Toorak Taxies" on City roads

Depends if you have the budget to buy a new 4wd.

Many enthusiasts off-roaders come from Toorak etc..

But what would the yummy mummies drive?

IMO, they should all drive Volvo XC90s, but they don't like Volvos, apparently, so they drive 200LCs, or Y62 Patrols. Can someone make sense of this, because I can't.

My daughter drives a Prius V, because it has 7 seats and the Bluetooth is "awesome", apparently.

You will find it hard, Mr Trout, to get the enormous SUV out of the school run.

    And why should you try?
    It’s a freedom...

Nobody says boo if a commodore wagon does the run, and they’re the same size as a LC200

An "Enthusiast" will take the truck out and Use it regularly so there shouldn't be any dramas with the DPF But the shopping trolley and school run 4wd's that rarely if Ever leave the bitumen or even the City itself will suffer.

Not if they follow the requirement for that vehicle.

    Seriously?
Most of the "Yummy Mummy" brigade wouldn't even know where to top up the oil so getting them to look after the DPF correctly is a Huge ask

Well, it might work in a SA mining town. In South Yarra? Not so much. "Dahlingg, the silly light has come on again in mah car." "Nevah mind, deah, I'll get Martin to take it to the the, what was it, oh yes, deahlership. I'm sure they'll lend you something". "Oh, dahling, would you? Maybe they'll lend me one of those Luvvely Velars. Cindy has one an it's just divine". " Certainly, dearest. What colour would you like?". "Oh, dahling, something to go with that frock you said you liked". And so on... LR must be loving it, and we think that there will be a new Defender? The badge, yes. The Icon, no. Hope I'm wrong.
