Devastated is the over used word this day and age, every one is devastated. It sort of takes the seriousness away from the word if used in every day occurrences .
Eg. A car gets hit, the owner was devastated. I'm sure if some one had a family member murdered they would be devastated also. So should they use words like seriously devastted, or uber devastated, or mega devastated so we can gauge the degree of devastation

Rubbish - half wouldn't even know and the rest mostly wouldnt care as long as its not them.
I grew up in a small community but it wasn't close knit. The amount of jealousy, back biting and viciousness was unbelievable.

Our Neighbor can tell us what vehicle drives up our drive way when not at home. I think if something happens (thank it doesn't happen) We can say we are a close knit community.
