How was YOUR day? WARNING. NOT A KID"S STORY.

This forum constantly brings up weird ****. I love it, because the forum isn't about weird ****, but lets it in. I hope it let's this in.

Today I got a call from my step son ( OK, the people I speak of are my step kids, but I don't want to keep typing that in ), telling me to check in on my . daughter, as something bad had happened. He was in the city ( Melb ), her guy was 2 hours away, and where was I? As it happened I was 10 minutes away........

Turns out she was talking on the phone, and was looking out her window, and saw her neighbour hanging in a tree. I mean, hanging, by the neck. I have seen some terrible things, but I think this tops all of them, in the sense of WTF??? And she is only 32, and lost her real dad 5 years ago, and her VERY real mum this year.

On 000, talking to Ambos and Pol, they tell her to just "cut him down", as she was unable to "catch" him. . Makes sense to me, but not to her... Not then. But she did... The sound he made when he hit the ground is where nightmares come from.

I have been involved in a few "first on scene, first reporter" scenarios, but I really hoped that would end when I did. Not so. Now it's Jemima's turn.

I am not liking 2018 much.

Horrific. I can only wish she can someday erase that whole experience from her memory. Human beings are pretty surprising as to their resilience sometimes, i know that someone very close to me has some chunks of memory missing, blocked out due to its traumatic nature. And what the HELL is that advice about cutting the deceased down?? As if it is going to help...😡😡. Just increases the amount of horror for her, someone at emergency services needs retraining!!!.

I would think that the advice to cut him down was i case he was still alive and it would save his life.

Was assuming that the neighbour had been there a while... i had to prevent an idiot from gassing themselves in their car out the front of his ex wifes house at 5am one morning, cops said to smash the window and turn off the engine, which i did, only to have the 'victim' launch himself at me and get me in a headlock to try and get his keys back to make an exit before the cops arrived. After they arrested him, a week or so later i get a message that he wants me to pay for a new window for his car.... i can't tell you how that went down....

    Horrific stuff.
I hope she was offered support from services.
If not there are services around that provide counselling for effected by suicide.
A local Community Health Centre would be a good place to contact in order to find what is available.
Make sure she gets some counselling as dealing with trauma like this can create issues in later life.

    Cheers, Mick.

How was she when you arrived on the scene John? Did you arrive before emergency services?
There've been some traumatic moments in my life but none as bad as that.
I hope you are all coping with it as well as could be expected.
    Cheers, Billy.

Agreed. Don't care about his bloody window, selfish bastard picked the driveway outside his exs house to give maximum effect too. Hopefully hes getting the help he beeds, and thank goodness she wasn't at home. (It was the unit in front of ours)
