Take the dpf's off a V6 Amarok and give it a tune, and the constant AWD and better handling will probably see better dragstrip and circuit times that the colorado V8.

The Rok's std four wheel discs are fine and you have saved $45k.

The Colorado V8 doesnt look special for $100k either, a Ranger Raptor looks better for less money, and if you really want a V8 then maybe spend a bit more and get a full fat secondhand Raptor.

the super utes are putting out 340bhp I believe , so I'm assuming thats where he engineered the idea of the Rodeo.

for $1300 I can get the 170kw Jaguar tune in my little Ranger around 30%+ improvement but 340 horses, that would be cool.
I think Brutes was Ross Palmer whom you might know as Palmer Tube Mills, big sponsor of Dick Johnson and I think Wayne Gardner with the Dogbone NSX. The current constructor is Ross Stone or Stone Brothers who build most (all???) of the SUper Utes.

I have the TDV6 Audi Q5 with the same motor (different spec) and its a rocket. They can get a LOT of power out of those motors and they're reliable. I think the single turbo spec of that motor is 200kw and the twin turbo is bonkers.

I think with a dpf removal and tune the Rok V6 is around 900Nm.

My brother just bought some new twin cab ute..... He watches what I do in my ****ty old Range Rover....... He must have said about 100 times now "It must be good to have an old 4wd that you don't care about" ..................... Pfffttt.... Of course I care about it ... But its made to be driven. If the wheezy little bent 8 isn't rumbling its way through the bush, its working it guts out dragging a trailer of some sort. The only issue I have with the thing is the fuel consumption ... its bloody horrific how much fuel it uses!

His twin cab thing cost about $60 grand .... and your to scared of damaging the damn thing to ever enjoy driving it .... My $800 ****box goes everywhere and does everything his twin cab does (and far more ... as its always being driven offroad) ............... the only difference is I have a big grin on my face as I'm doing it.

lifes to short to drive boring modern **** that bores you to tears, just so you can keep up with the Jones.

I'm thinking far less grunty for the old Rangie .... something that sounds nice but uses far less fuel (so it won't trash the driveline)

Not sure what the Colorado discussion has to do with the new Commodore - but I guess that is the way of some threads.

I see that the SA Police now are using the new Commodore as their everyday patrol cars - just saw some in TV on a news report where the new Commodore was in attendance along with the previous Aussie Commodore.
