Good race but no where near as thrilling as the past but maybe i have lost the passion as it is so sterile now a days![]()
Some good racing and a great result, but not the most enthrawling race I've ever seen to be honest. Don't get me wrong Pickles, I enjoyed the day, but apart from a few things here and there it wasn't what you'd call high drama compared to other years. A bit more rain when it came would have been more entertaining. Something to throw the teams a curveball - with so few safety cars, there wasn't much to disrupt the teams race plans which I always like seeing as you get to see some inspired stratagy - and some not so inspired too from time to time. No one almost out of fuel at the end, no one nursing a sick car to the end. Oh well, I'm sure an uneventful race is a good race for the teams. 👍
Anyway, might watch a bit more of it going forward, was a good day all in all. 👍

An event is an event, and a race is a race,....it is what it is, and what is created during the running of the event, any event, not just Supercars.
Yes, I get it that at times, cars were just circulating, but with Courtney blowing an engine, Davey expiring, and crowd favorite Lowndsey coming from a very average pre race car performance, the race was a ripper, particularly if ya followed the "developments" from Thursday, when the 888 car was nowhere. As I've repeatedly said, it's the way these cars are developed/tuned during an event which gets me, just as much as the actual race.....which was the case in today's race.
IMHO, Craig should not be "retiring",....just about any team would love to have him.
Pickles.
Well done Craig's . Tough for Reynolds.
No worries Gav.
Like I've said before, it's the stuff in the pits, what goes on there, driver/crew interviews, how the the cars are "tuned/adjusted" or "sorted" for the race at hand, as was the case with Craig's car which interests me, maybe more than the actual race at times. Also, the amazing way in which at times, an almost totally destroyed car can be pulled apart & rebuilt, sometimes in a matter of hours. It's all part of the deal for me.
But mate, I'm retired, so I've got time to watch, and take it all in.
I'm still not totally convinced that Camaro will run, but there seems to be a bit of gathering momentum, so we'll see,...won't happen until 2020 anyway.
On another vein, the 82 & 83 Bathurst winning, Brock driven VH Commodore, made around $2.3M at auction during the w.e.!

My wife asked me "why are they booing the 3rd place drivers?"
Bloody good question seeing none of the cars are sold in OZ anymore. My answer was that it was because it was a Ford and the halfwits still go on about Ford vs Holden.
Discussion today on radio as to why rail system in chaos as 115 or so did not turn up for work vs 70 absences expected. Same with air traffic control on Sunday apparently. They put it down to "jet lag" because of daylight saving.
Hmmmm.

But the winner was a Peugeot - well at least the shape of the winning car was - nothing else in it is related to the car it is based on.
