In reverse. It sounds like they knew how to get rid of someone camped too close to them & it worked.
Two large dogs that don't like people getting too close to their ute has proven very effective for me .
may not work well in national parks?
The same neighbourly actions happen when you go into a near empty cafe and you want to have a private conversation with someone - you can guarantee that the next person/group that comes in will sit at the table right next to you even though the place is just about empty.
The same happens in the toilets these days - I was brought up that you gave the bloke next to you at the urinals the max possible room - him down one end and you down the other eyes in front.
Not these days - mateship and getting as close as possible seems to be the name of the game these days - hmm nothing to see here - move right along
It's to do with all this PC "reaching out" crap or in your case, not reaching out to the bloke in the next urinal pan.![]()
No dogs in national parks is a real pain , haven't been able to train them to pretend that are not there when the ranger turns up.
An effective deterrent used by one of my mates was to wait until 'intruders' had half set up their camp and then play his air raid CD at full noise while letting go with a couple of shots from his 12 gauge - no words were spoken as he waved them goodbye!

I agree re the cafe thing, it happens far too often for my liking but I have the opposite thing happening at the urinal.
Whenever I'm standing there everyone makes for a cubicle?
I'm not sure what that says about me?
Oh, and that's when I'm in tradie work wear too, not after hours stuff.![]()
Obviously two things. 1. They have you sussed or 2. they are trying to tell you something, Rick.Whenever I'm standing there everyone makes for a cubicle?![]()
