Ok - so the Holden Commodore and the Holden Insignia are the same car - now that doesn't make a lot of sense from a marketing point of view.

This is a fair explanation of what's happening.

Why GM CEO Mary Barra killed Chevrolet cars, approved likely plant closures
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I had forgotten that GM sold Opel to Peugeot.
GM is certainly betting on electric and self-driving vehicles.
JLR better do the same for a long-term future.

Yes the current Holden product has a closer current relationship with Ford (PSA) than it does with GM.

JLR are in the front of many other manufacturers with electric vehicles - the new Jag Ipace is certainly as good as any Tesla as far as the technology goes - way ahead of BMW and Toyota.

    Spot on Disco.
I've driven one, and whilst I'm not saying it's the best car in the world, it is as you say, "a good car". The Press have a lot to answer for with respect to its reputation. I've only driven the VXR V6 AWD, very nice on the road with AWD which would be excellent in the wet, but the pick of the bunch is supposed to be the 4Cyl turbo with its 9 (I think) speed auto, the 4 cyl having about the same torque as the V6. It has a well finished "Euro" look & feel interior, and is well appointed. What it is not, is a VF11.
Acadia?.. don't know how that'll turn out yet, haven't read a full test yet, but an appraisal in a recent edition of "Drive" in the Melbourne Herald was favorable, apart from the fact that it doesn't have a diesel option. However, from what I've read, the future of diesel is under a bit of a cloud at the moment, so just have to see how it goes I guess. But I will have a drive, to see what it's like. I was offered a drive of a new Silverado,..have you seen one?,.....they are MASSIVE,...too big for me, so I declined!
Always makes me laugh when people criticize cars, but they haven't even driven one. I mean, I don't like Camrys, not my type of car at all, but if ya're just looking for a reliable, roomy, family sedan, they'd be hard to beat. Just because I don't like 'em, doesn't mean they're not a damn good vehicle, just not for me that's all.

Trumpf has introduced less stringent pollution laws, that along with virtually no emission restriction for vehicles above a certain weight has encouraged sales of pickups, hence Fords F series the best sellers of any vehicle.

California has the highest emissions laws and they are state laws. Trump can't change that.

Apparently when you convert an ICE to an Electric vehicle in California you still must go to an Emissions test centre and get a "Smog Report"
