I walked by to have a look and it was now up around $120K and the owner was in negotiations with someone. Apparently over the last couple of years they are now collectors items as pure drivers cars so the price has skyrocketed. A day late and a buck short....
About 10 years ago i heard that early porsches were worth about $30k at the time.

Traded my 1955 Kombi on my first Landrover in 1962-3. Anyone noticed what Kombis bring these days!

The old man bought his XW GTHO PHII around 72/73 and at the time he said he was offered a Dino Ferrari for about the same money .
Sold the GT when my little bro came on the scene in 76 and bought an RRC, my older bro and i never forgave him or younger bro for that.

I should never have sold my D2a

I will just leave it at that.

    Oh,also the VS Clubby,manual,leather upgrade,original invoices,etc,should have kept it,immaculate.

The only smart thing we didn't do is sell the Series 1,or lose the log books, original invoices, etc.

Wish I still had my 57 FE I bought when I was 18. Only car I have owned that I regreted selling the moment I sold it . My wife wishes we still owned our 84 Rover 3500SE SD1 , every car we have owned since she tells me it is not as good as the Rover. I tryed to buy it back once for her but the guy wouldn't sell it.

Just imagine though the real cost of storing, moving and maintaining cars so that at 20-40 years on they are still functional. A spot in a vermin free water proof insulated shed isn't cheap over the time scales mentioned. A crappy single car shed covered in blackberries and with a dirt floor doesn't rate.

My FE plus 3 other vehicles I wish I still owned but didn't regret selling at the time Image (38).jpg the photo of the FE is when I 1st bought it before the 8" rims , lowering & engine mods. The Rover 3500SE was a amazing car to drive & ideal for long trips , we did around 300,000 Km's in it in the 4 years we owned it. Image (41).jpg If I could find another the same colour with the same trim I would sell the 1984 BMW E30 & buy it.
