Wish I still had my Mini.
Oi, steady on.You just described my shed (ex working heavy horse stables). Under the Dirt floor is a red brick on edge floor covered in soil by the previous owners when they "upgraded" to a solid rubber tyred truck. Can even see the hollow in the floor where the horses stood & ****ed in the one spot for years.
Certainly has got a lot of character with 14" (350mm) diam Stringy Bark posts.
But dry, no not really as the fog blows through it but it is well ventilated though.
Hope this helps.
The very first car I bought at 19, albeit non running was a genuine LJ GTR Torana.
Metallic green, immaculate trim/interior and little rust.
I was going to build it up as a race car to take on the hoards of RX2's & 3's and lone Dolomite Sprint in the NSW Street Sedan class.
I eventually realised I wouldn't beat the Mazdas so sold it to my cousins hubby who finished the build and road registered it.
I then bought a Jeep.
Then was dumped by the GF a year or so later so went kart racing![]()
I’ve recently been looking for an example of my first car - a mid 70’s Subaru wagon - bloody hard to find. Probably a good reason for that but sometimes I think I wouldn’t mind restoring one...
Mine was almost identical to the one below - colour and all including rust stripes from the rear window. A face only a Mother could love, but I’d like to find another one...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I forgot about this one 1967 MGBGT that I owned for around 10 years 002.jpg spent around $35,000 on it restoring it & sold it for just over half that amount. I don't regret selling it , it was too hot to drive most of the year. Replaced it with some thing with A/C
The engine bay december downloads 250.jpg The black hose on inner guard was an attempt to get cool ait into the cabin. 031.jpg I made up the wood dash.
I saw an identical Mini the other day to the first car I bought after school, the all-powerful 850cc in white with a blue roof. It was noisy, rattled and the door handles fell on the floor while driving, but it was fun. Would be very sentimental to have one, although a Cooper S would be better!
Ooh that looks like our family car when I was a kid.
We had a blue Californian with white Sunraysia wheels, big steel roll bar under the soft top, white steel bull bar and matching rear bar. We had it since new and traded it in (for about a grand) in 1988 on a second hand
1984 Mazda 323 hatch, as mum wanted something a bit more comfortable.
Imagine what the Moke is worth today compared to the 323 😳 😩😭
When i was 18 i bought a 66 850 mini for $250 with 6 months reg out of the trading post ( i wasnt dreamin ), on my first trip away it dropped a valve on the way to Mt Buller to go skiing. It was sold shortly after being towed back home, for the life of me i dont know why we didnt repair it. One of dad's customers was a mini specialist just around the corner from his shop so we could have fixed it on the cheap.![]()
