Already a big problem, you can't borrow fire fighting planes from the USA any more as their extended fire season massively overlaps our extended one.

I don't mind the heat,......as long as I can get away from it, so I'm eternally greatful that we have A.C. in our home & in our car.
I remember the "old days" with our early Holdens etc when we opened an under dash "vent", or the side "vent" windows to try to get some cool air into the car, and I can remember getting a sweaty arse sitting on vinyl seats!
We travel in the Mallee from time to time, and it gets bloody hot up there,...we've been up there on several occasions when it's been 40-43+, probably more out in the open paddocks, where invariably ya'll see farmers "on the job"....= RESPECT.

Glad I'm not in Birdsville, where it's going to be 46 today and 29 tonight. Mind you, it was still 28 here last night about midnight, and we're near the coast.

I was about to start a thread on the same topic.

It has been hot here for weeks Here are some of the temps.

    12/1 39.4
    13 35.1
    14 39.4
    15 41.1
    16 41.3
    17 37.4
    18 36.7
19 28.5 Finally got a bit of a reprieve until it heats again.
Here is the next 7 day forecast.

    35, 38, 39, 35, 39, 43, 37.

On the 16th the min was 24.7 which was at 1.00 am. At 1.30 am the temp had risen to 29.1 and from there never went below 27 for the rest of the night.

I don't mind it to much as I chose to move here 18 years ago knowing what the climate was like.

At least it is dry heat, with the humidity varying between 10 and 20%

The biggest hassle is keeping the lawns and gardens hydrated.

Having just had this put in helps

    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

A telephone Box! How would that help, it'd be even hotter in there?

    P2.
I remember the "old days" with our early Holdens etc when we opened an under dash "vent",
Only to find the incoming air was sort of indirectly off the engine via the bonnet & one thought one had left the heater on..

Shirley you meant to say "the good olde Days"?

The blokes before us lot had the luxury of a breeze from a slow moving Bullock Wagon for cooling. Possibly.
