I posted a rave about my eGo 56volt mower and chainsaw just after I got them mid last year. I've been using them for a while now so less starry-eyed but I have to still say they are both way better than I had hoped. I actually got my Husqvarna petrol chainsaw out last week and gave it a run for the first time since buying the battery one. Only reason I fired up the Husky was because I had misjudged the lie of the 18" eucalypt log from the tree I had just felled with the eGo saw and I had it pinched in the cut, the log was too heavy to move so I had to make another cut to free the saw. Did a little bit with the Husky while it was out but that'll be the last time until I have no choice again.
The only down side I have found with the battery saw is that if you overload it so it slows down, it cuts out and you have to back off the cut and switch on again; whereas a petrol saw might drop the revs a bit and keep going. Same with the mower, the protective circuitry cuts the motor dead if it starts to slow even slightly.
Never having to pull-start a mower or chainsaw is fantastic. Chainsawing without the need for earmuffs is a bonus.
Just bought one as so impressed with the 12"Dewalt I keep in the 110

We still use my fathers little Stihl which is well over 40yrs old,its done thousands of hours, still going fine.
The only thing that did happen recently was the spark plug lead had rubbed through on the Alloy casing.Nothing a bit of electrical tape couldn't fix.
But the latest electric one is just as good, and the batteries seem to last for ages.
And no noise or petrol to lug around and no petrol fumes in the car.
If anyone is a bit disappointed in the the performance of their whipper snippers (petrol or elec) try using square section line. Especially on 'woody' stem weeds.

Any body had this happen ? Best price in Aus $953 with one 12 amp battery. This one had two and at over $300 apiece seemed like a no brainer .The seller looses his saw also ![]()

I’ve seen a few times where some countries cannot ship certain items....I guess it got something to do with distribution rights protecting their network of agents.
