Shouldn't you have a Sparkie doing that?

    I had the same thought.

Is the said Spark - Maker qualified to do plumbing?

Actually, the wife has always fancied herself as a plumber and likes to do a lot. I just stand by and hand her spanners. This arrangement works well for me.

SWMBO had a crack at fixing a tap here one day, didn't turn the water off,and i was not home.

She didn't even know where to turn it off

Somehow, she managed to get the tap back together, and stop the water from flooding the whole house.

    Amazing,aren't they?

Now i won't go on about the wires going into the vacuum cleaner i found covered in sticky tape,i could see the bare copper though the clear tape.

Well that was alright then Paul, she probably left it like that so you could make a safety inspection through the tape to see it was ok..

At least she hadn't left them bare, as some do.

And one thing they don't know is how to run drains from AC units

My missus is mechanically inept and every time she tries to "Fix" something it usually takes me twice as long to fix her stuff ups as it would to have simply done the job myself in the first place.
God bless her little cotton sox for trying though

I agree with my other learned friend, ie. no air breaks, traps & uphill.

LOL! Your missus and my dad must be related! Either that, or genetically identical!

Funniest thing I've ever seen him attempt was to create a platform/shelf to hold about 200lt of water.
He had a blue drum, dunno what of but they're a common form with a large screw on top lid, all plastic, top lid about 40 or so cm diameter. I think they're more like a 180lt drum .. not quite as large as a 44gal.
Anyhow, about 200lt water = 200kg. Not hard to do, but not as easy as dad thought.
What he concocted was best described as bark, twigs, a bit of string and hope! Something that the Cat in the Hat would cobble up to reach something high up.
I kid you not, he had some roll of cotton like string, string diameter about 5mm, and he thought this stuff was going to 'cut it'. Old bits of timber, some lengths of tree branches ... etc.
Drum mounted just above average bloke head height(~ 1.8m). Shed roof filled said drum in no time, I doubt it got to about 1/4 full and it came down like a sack of spuds!
Brother took a photo of it, everyone else laughed, I just shook my head!

Anyhow, a few weeks later I had the time, got him some steel, welded up a frame, fitted two of those drums, with some shelving below for all his other bits of crap that he hoardes.
The sad bit is tho .. all the tools he needed to do a job of it, were all up at his place, and he had more than enough timber to do it all himself .. just zero idea how to do it.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
