Yes I heard that it closed today - also the same report they said the Illawarra Highway was closed as well making it more problematic to get north of Sydney - the back roads from Marulan to Moss Vale and down Macquarie Pass - might have to be the go.

From Canberra, with these fires, go inland via the Central West.

The pressure is on the government over its climate policy, from it's own members. And guess who is in the firing line.

Is nearly double the distance to Newcastle that way (via Dubbo), so if the Hume Highway or the road to Wollongong remains closed I just won't go.

PS - the M31 has just reopened, I guess with the southerly coming through so if the wind keeps that direction it may stay open. The Illawarra Highway was closed because of a truck accident not the fires so that option also remains.
