No one really knows what to do. We are stuck in limbo. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. The World will pass us by, There will be huge tariffs placed on our coal exports, and the EU has already said it is prepared to put huge tariffs on Australian exports if we don't do something positive about climate change.

Indeed, but once it passes - just wait a few years and they’ll get another go.

Delivering renewable energy from Western NSW. I think the first Federal political party to come up with a workable plan for renewable energy will be welcomed into government. Australian people are not stupid. [ well, most of them]They know what's needed, they just need a workable plan to get it. Whatever happens will not be painless.

We may be a minnow population wise, but our per capita contribution is one of the highest.
Countries that can do something, should be doing something. Rich countries got rich on the back of fossil fuels and now we expect developing countries to do it clean. The US as usual leads the way in this global problem and I can't see that changing any time soon. Let's do our bit.

    Cheers

    No it is not.
Australia is a net CO2 sink because of our small population and large areas of forest, which are growing more vigorously because of the CO2 generated in the NORTHERN hemisphere.

So our output is balanced more than 100% by our input.

Surely the net output is the important thing unless of course there is apolitical imperative to say "we'll all be runed"
