Australian people are not stupid. [ well, most of them]They know what's needed, they just need a workable plan to get it. Whatever happens will not be painless.

We may be a minnow population wise, but our per capita contribution is one of the highest.
Countries that can do something, should be doing something. Rich countries got rich on the back of fossil fuels and now we expect developing countries to do it clean. The US as usual leads the way in this global problem and I can't see that changing any time soon. Let's do our bit.

Australia is a net CO2 sink because of our small population and large areas of forest, which are growing more vigorously because of the CO2 generated in the NORTHERN hemisphere.
So our output is balanced more than 100% by our input.
Surely the net output is the important thing unless of course there is apolitical imperative to say "we'll all be runed"
