And the problem with natural selection is? Evolution has been using it for millions of years, as just another species who are we to think we are better? To take a slightly less extreme approach than the one that you might have in mind - People choose to build a house in the forest, house gets burned down , government declares that houses shall not be rebuilt in a high risk area. Natural selection at work

Greg Mullins, former Fire and Rescue NSW commissioner, says warmer conditions with higher fire danger prevent hazard reduction burning.

"Blaming 'greenies' for stopping these important measures is a familiar, populist, but basically untrue claim."

Except there has been a reluctance to hazard reduce esp in State/National forests for the last 30-40 years that i can think of personally
