that was my reply way back in #184, note the link to the information. I made it bold so as to not be missed this time.
If you're questioning 'my information' .. firstly it's not my information.
If you follow the link I posted back then you can see where I got the data.
I can post a long winded summary of it all if you like(actually I did and NBN went down and I lost it all), but it'll be a long read that no one will want too.

This is an excellent insider's view of the Wytaliba fire.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
...so back to the effects of motoring on the environment:
In all seriousness I think we are all frustrated in one way or another about what the future holds in terms of our motoring freedom... whether it’s fears about freedom to drive our 4x4’s as we wish or fears about the impact on the environment of driving our 4x4s. They’re actually both the same issue. ...how to improve our relationship with the natural environment that sustains human life while maintaining our motoring freedom?
Either way the problem is that most of the solutions are out of our hands as citizens.
Unfortunately the environment has become a political football with major corporate interests and governments holding all the power. Yes we can vote once every three years, but this is a very slow route to the change required urgently. Yes we can walk or cycle instead, but this obviously isn’t practical in most situations.
This article outlines both the need for higher quality fuel standards in Australia. As well as better support for EV infrastructure going forward. Unfortunately both require leadership and significant funding which seem to be largely absent at the moment.
Wrong turn: why Australia's vehicle emissions are rising | Environment | The Guardian
Even if a tradie wants an EV they are not yet available and neither is the infrastructure.
Even if we want to drive more efficient vehicles, not only is our fuel quality very low by world standards, this also means new vehicles will not run efficiently and will not last as long as they should. So Australia could become the dumping ground for old technology, if it’s not already.
Without great leadership on this issue, we will all continue to go around in circles, blaming whoever doesn’t suit our vested interests. The above article makes it clear that the current leadership vacuum in this country on improving vehicle emissions is fostering the type of anguish and blame shifting being constantly demonstrated on this forum.
We are actually all responsible as consumers, yet the solutions seem a long way off.
Somehow we need to unite behind finding the solutions that don’t impinge on our motoring freedom, while at the same time better care for our fragile environment. We will all be better off if we do.
...and here’s an article illustrating the reality we all face together. I can’t work out if it’s alarmist or denialist...but one thing’s for sure, praying for so called “English rain”, is not the solution! LOL.
Terrifying map shows the horror summer season ahead with scorching temperatures and extreme weather to ravage Australia - and experts say it's NEVER been this bad
OK, so you didn't click the link to the site I posted.
Or are you implying the BoM posts fake news(in this case data)?
Your link takes us to BoM(so I assume non fake news) .. my link takes us to BoM(and you're implying fake news).
And to be sure there's no misunderstanding here too .. my link takes you(should do) to the BoM(Bureau of Meteorology) site, specifically to the rainfall total page. If you can read the graph of historical data since 1900, YOU will see the facts you seek for confirmation.
Not my facts, facts are from the same BoM people that you implied your link shows real facts.
Isn't this a case of having your cake and eating it too? That is you believe that your BoM is posting real news, yet for some reason my link to the same BoM data is somehow fake news
If people are going to be selective about which bit of info they want to believe is real or not(even tho its from the same source) .. what hope is there for any sense of resolution. (ps. it's a rhetorical question, hence no question mark).
And LOL on Trump .. if it's anti Trump news .. it's fake news(ie. factual to us real world folks). If it's Trump ego massaging news, it's fake news(so we know it's true)
OT: Watched the SBS show last night about the Saudi's murdering that poor Khashoggi journalist. Insane story!. Khashoggi was pro Saudi(Mohammed Bin Salman) for a long time, so he was in their good books.
One day he writes one piece warning Saudis that Trump was bad news for them, Saudi's then turn violent against Khashoggi. Madness! Compelling viewing.
