Thread: Climate Change and our Land of Fire, Flood and Drought.

Climate change will severely affect the vehicles which carmakers can sell to the public. If carmakers fail to meet emissions limits, they can cop large fines.
This is an issue which hasn't been taken seriously in Australia yet, but it's a big deal overseas and its going to become an even bigger deal in coming years.
One reason is because of emissions limits caused by climate change. Another reason is air quality, as vehicle emissions now contribute to more deaths than crashes.
SUVs such as the Land Rover fleet are particularly in doubt because their emissions are generally higher than for cars.

Polluting vehicles could be pulled from UK sale, say carmakers

Perhaps the 'Solent Green' theory should be implemented , which would get rid of all the old farts driving around, in their awful pollutionmobiles, for no apparent reason other than for their own enjoyment and gratification?

Seems like reasonable reasons, Land Rover drivers have been doing it since 1948, or '49 once they got the hang of this "noo fangled machinery".

Fair comment. We'll call for volunteers.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Twas 'Soylent Green', as opposed to some drain in England.

Very important to get items on a menu correct.

    Mick. What’s your agenda?

Your consumption contributes, your life choices contribute.

The change in climate is inevitable and isn’t going to change.

If we do everything, and I mean everything... we can NOT prevent the cycle.

We also will almost double emissions by 2050 if populations continue and lifespans increase.

The Romans etc were more emissions intensive than we currently are. So that’s style of living is not a solution.

So what do you propose globally- that will do any good??

Agree, I’d like to see some of the trillions of dollars being spent of trying to reverse or slow down climate change be channeled to how we are going to adapt and live with climate change.
