I will read ANY publication about something that sparks my interest But as soon as I discover that the truth/facts are getting "Distorted" I loose interest very quickly.
This tends to happen on a pretty regular basis whenever I read what the Guardian, The Conversation and a few others have to say.

Distortion or challenges your world view? Climate Change and our Land of Fire, Flood and Drought.

    Beware the echo chamber.

The Guardian and the SMH/Age appear to have the least bias of any mainstream news sources.

The Australian is a shadow of what it once was, so much bias and conflicted opinion in certain areas.
The rest of News Ltd is a joke.

Just Distortion Mate, I would rather form my opinions from facts and not from hype or passion.

Except I read what they write as fact based and far less distorted than other publications.
Particularly with social media and 'bots' now skewing 'news', reading between the lines and using multiple sources is much more important than it ever was.
A mate who is on the opposite side of the fence when it comes to climate change only said last week he's so careful now when it comes to going in to bat for others, as we are often only getting partial or very skewed 'facts'

In psychology it's called confirmation bias when we seek out opinions or cherry pick 'facts' that confirm a pre existing belief or emotion.
We all need to read widely and be prepared to change a position as new information comes to light.

Fairly apt for this thread. Perhaps Mr. Clemens was a seer, of sorts.
