I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Worms and grubs taste better 😜

...I’ll never forget my first mangrove worm in the NT...delicious, better than oysters. And witchety grubs are very tasty too.

    Spiders? NO!

    Mangrove worms taste like mud.

My parents used to cook up fried rice with pipi.

Not bad either, once the sand was out of them. The trick was to leave them in a bucket full of sea water overnight with a piece of mesh on a few rocks, about 1 inch off the bottom of the bucket. They would spit the sand out overnight and it would fall through the mesh.

In the 70's they were very common, and a good feast when camping for weeks at places like Fraser island.

A welcome change to freshly caught fish every night

My advice on eating insects, don't eat the insects, unless accidentally of course, in which case you pro'ly won't even realise, unless you find half an insect in your food. A friend and I were on a road trip and stopped at a servo for a couple of pies to eat on the go. We started driving, and the next thing I heard was the car door open and he spat out a mouthful of sausage roll, he then showed me the head of a cockroach in the remaining filling, he must have just bit off the antennae!

When cattle grazing is banned because of the environmental damage it does, we will all be eating insects, so enjoy our steak while we can.
