Blueys are great dogs, but very defensive of what's theirs. Mate had two of 'em. I'd play with 'em, wrestle 'em, fight them for sticks, Chase 'em, all good fun. Soon as he put 'em in the back of his ute all games were over. No way would I put my hand near that ute unless he said I could. And boy did they look out for his kids.Quote:

They didn't all die going by that Vid. Maybe most were knocked unconscious by summat & eventually came to & took off again but they haven't reported that.
After cleaning windows sometimes we have Blackbirds fly into them so I look to see they are as OK as can be & leave them. Go back an hour later & they have gone & sometimes you just have to touch them gently & they are off smartish like.
Some there were still fluttering about on the ground & some actually took flight.
Had they flown over an industrial exhaust of some sort or a Chemical cloud ie. Chlorine etc (or Col. Sanders,) which may have happened a few km back but drop, they certainly did?[bighmmm]
what are you calling blackbirds 4bee?
ravens? starlings?....of which SA has too many of the feral things...

The Tasmanian infestation started when somebody broke into an aivary at the Beaumoris Zoo to steal some more exotic birds and didn't close their breach.
Much public discourse ensued, "Dear little dicky birds sing so sweetly" v.s. "They will ruin the Small Fruits industry."
That was the end of many berry farms on the hills around Hobart and beyond.
