Mt Isa is technically the largest city in the world, as the town of Camooweal is a suburb of it. "Mount Isa proudly claims to be the largest city in the world. Just another instance of the inaccuracy of the "local" in local government (from someone whose seat of local government is over 100km from here - but (they don't pretend it is a city).
The road from Mt Isa to Camooweal is Federally funded, as part of the Nation Highway 1.
