“The Lord of the Rings” was also a sacred text."

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm

“The Lord of the Rings” was also a sacred text. “I don’t consider ‘The Lord of the Rings’ fantasy,” she said.

"Hobbits and the Hard Right: How Fantasy Inspires Italy’s Potential New Leader
Giorgia Meloni, the nationalist politician who is the front-runner to become prime minister, sees “The Lord of the Rings” as not just a series of novels, but also a sacred text." Link pay walled possibly sorry

Frodo would be confused I think J.R.R. Tolkin did spin a good yarn of course. The expanded yarn to the fruity loopy types is via "Elémire Zolla, a philosopher who was a point of reference on the hard right and who argued that Tolkien was “talking about everything we confront every day.”"

    Elémire died in 1926.

I wonder if Tom Cruise odd space cadets might swap notes? He is Scientology
That is of course by L. Ron Hubbard a science fiction yarn man who died 1986.

    les hiddens landcruiser...

during the S111 >Perentie phase out/in program , DOD purchased a number of LWB canvas top troopies. To do the job that the S111's were doing required extra spring leaves front and rear, which turned the Landcruiser into an absolute dog of a thing.

Many drivers rejoiced at the "power" available and there was a subsequent increase in mil vehicle accidents. I believe Les was given one and he hated it. I had one as company vehicle (army company) for a while and it was a dog on a loose dirt road and if you had the obligitary ten diggers in the back they would very quickly let you know how unstable they rode.

I don't recall if Les handed his back and resecured an old land rover , but there was something there. I don't know if he got a perentie.....it took a long time and all the pogos seemed to get them first.

I never saw those in my time with RA Sigs & current vehicles then were 109 S2As as FFRs.

Sounds like I was very lucky.

I wonder if this would work in Aus.?

"Yes, as weird as it may sound, in the United States it is, in fact, totally possible to send a letter by simply attaching money equal to the value of the required postage for a given letter and still have it delivered. It’s also fully possible to do a hybrid of this where perhaps you needed two stamps for a given letter, but only had one, so affix one stamp and then some change to cover the rest."
